Rainy Day

I know driverway puddles are nasty, but I couldn't help letting the boy play in the rain for a few minutes....

Weeds

I took these sometime last fall at the end of 5th street downtown anchorage, Cook Inlet. It was during one of the coolest sunsets I have ever seen. Just re-worked them a bit.

This was the sunset.

Earthquakes make great alarm clocks

This morning around 5:18 we had a fairly good sized earthquake that shook my bed for roughly 30 seconds. It was a 4.8 and it's epicenter was about 12 miles outside of anchorage... Hell of a way to wake up. hehe

Onto the pic's...
These are from yesterday when I was taking pictures of dragonflys. As I was standing near the edge of the lake trying to be as still as possible to get one of the dragonflys to land near me, I was getting mobbed by these giant Horseflies or Deerflies, whatever you choose to call em. Suckers were as big as a quarter. However, it's not their size that's important. It was how many of them there were. The second pic was taken after I waved more than half of them away....

Links

I'm in the process of re-doing the links in the sidebar to make the page look cleaner and such. Anyone out there with a photoblog need a link, lemme know if I don't have yours up already so I can add it.

Everyone else please remind me as well so I can throw yours up in another section, I have a lot of links I shoulda added a long time ago but I have very short attention span and completely spaced it out. ;)

This is some of the best Alaskan photography I have ever seen.....

Reflections in a pond

Ok, I guess I should explain a little about these....

I took a picture of some tall grass reflected against the sky in a pond.... then, with a wave of my have and a flash of smoke I made them look like this. Ok, that explanation sucks but I can't do tutorials for crap. If you look real hard you can see the bottom of the pond behind the grass ;)

Dirty lightbulb

Don't ask me why I took this or why I posted it, c'ause I dunno... :)

On the way to Otter Lake

Harvey on his way to meet me at the lake, the reason I am showing this pic is the background... looks like he's a million miles from nowhere when actually he just left the main road. It goes from paved road and buildings directly to dirt road, bushes and trees. There's no gradual transition... it's pretty funny.

This is where my HotRod was sitting as he pulled up. Click on the truck, it looks great in high res.

DragonFly at Otter Lake pt2

This is Harvey (a guy I work with and the one who helped me get into photography) taking a picture of that same DragonFly that I was shooting... kind of a behind the scenes look I guess. Btw, he has the same camera that I shoot with.

DragonFly at Otter Lake

Stopped again today at the lake before I left work, this guy had just emerged from the water and was sunning his wings getting ready to fly.

Otter Lake

Btw, these last several pics have been in high res (click on them and they're 1024X768).

Anyone but me see Donkey from Shrek in this pic?

I honestly have no idea why I like this shot...

This is from the same day as the picture below, a panoramic I stitched together from 5 pictures. The bottom one I worked on the first is the way it came outta the camera.
